My hand-built ceramic animal sculptures explore the connection between nature, movement and organic form. Horses, owls and other creatures emerge through flowing carved surfaces that give each sculpture its own personality, texture and sense of movement.
Every piece begins as a solid sculptural form. I then carve into the clay by hand, creating the openings, channels and sweeping lines that have become part of my signature organic process. The result is contemporary ceramic sculpture that feels at once earthy, intricate and unexpected.
Created individually in my Colorado studio, these are original works of ceramic art rather than molded or mass-produced décor. Each sculpture is shaped, carved, fired and finished by hand, making every piece completely unique.

Ceramic Horse Sculptures
The strength and movement of the horse make it a natural subject for my sculptural work. Rather than recreating a horse literally, I use flowing lines, openings and carved organic patterns to suggest muscle, movement, energy and personality.
Some horse sculptures are highly open and textural, revealing an almost branch-like structure beneath the form. Others use broad sweeping curves and spirals that move across the face and neck. Each is hand built and carved individually, allowing the character of the horse to develop throughout the process.

Handmade Ceramic Owl Sculptures
Owls are mysterious, watchful and wonderfully strange — which makes them perfect subjects for sculpture.
My ceramic owl sculptures combine recognizable owl forms with deeply carved surfaces, open negative spaces and organic lines inspired by the structures found throughout nature. Eyes, feathers, wings and bodies are interpreted rather than copied, giving each owl its own slightly eccentric character.
From tall, elegant forms to more intricate woodland-inspired pieces, every owl sculpture is created by hand and fired as an original work of ceramic art.
